A.
Baseplate Features

Mustang two-piece FXR seats are designed to fit all 1982-94 models with hinged front seats. The formed steel baseplates of the solo and the passenger seats have rubber bumpers to minimize vibration and to protect the paint. The rear baseplate is also carpeted to protect the fender.
Use the OEM hinge and latch on the new solo. Passenger seat has a chrome rear tab and front slots in the base to fit directly to the fender bolts.

B.
Removal
of Stock Seat

Stock One-Piece Seats
1. Remove rear fender screw located at back of seat.
2. Slide seat back and up.

Stock Two-Piece Seat
1. Unlatch solo to expose hinge.
2. Push plastic clip off of hinge using small screwdriver or fingers.
3. Slide solo seat back to clear hinge and remove.
4. Unbolt hinge and latch from bottom of solo.

Stock Passenger Seat
1. Remove rear fender screw.
2. Loosen front mounting bolts.
3. Slide seat back and up to remove.

C. Mounting of Mustang Seat

Solo Seat
1
. Remove OEM hinge and latch system from stock seat and mount to the Mustang seat.
2. Latch seat to frame.

Passenger Seat

Stock bolt mounting:
1. Install stock fender bolts and washers into fender.
2. Engage front slots in baseplate under washers onto stock fender bolts.
3. Secure stock fender bolts.
4. Align rear tab with threaded hole in fender.
5. Secure rear tab with stock screw.

Optional Mustang mounting bolts:
1. Install Mustang seat bolts part #78027 (5/16"-24 thread) into stock fender locations.
2. Engage front slotted "U" brackets into slot located at top of bolt.
3. Align rear tab with threaded hole in fender.
4. Secure rear tab with stock screw.
