I Used to Cringe
Ok guys, I'm thanking you but I should be thanking my girlfriend--after all, she's the reason I replaced my stock seat. We wouldn't go more than twenty or thirty minutes before she started squirming around on the back of my Road King Custom.
Although I actually wanted to spend money on other parts of the bike, I got tired of listening to her, so the seat became a priority. I really didn't see a problem with it for myself--although I would find myself moving in different positions on trips that were more than a half an hour. I thought that was just part of riding a motorcycle. Hey, I wasn't laying on the sofa, I'm out riding right? Wrong!!!
I got the Mustang solo with rider backrest and the passenger pillion and Oh My God!!! I could immediately tell that I was going to like it.
After about a week, I went on a trip with some guys. We left about 7 a.m. and didn't get home until around 11 p.m. Early on when we'd stop for gas or a bite to eat, all the other guys were either complaining about their back or their butts. I was perfectly fine.
About mid-day my buddy on the Sportster said he didn't think he could ride anymore so we swapped bikes for a while; as he passed me, he was all smiles pointing down at the seat.
Well I pulled back home shortly after 11 p.m. and put the bike in the garage, came in and gave my girlfriend a thank you kiss, because I was feeling GREAT!!! I'm sure with the stock seat I would have been miserable.
UNBELIEVABLE? Well I really didn't think it could make that much of a difference. I truly believe that I could now ride across the country on my bike. I can even ride over those humps in the road without even thinking of lifting up or tightening up. I used to cringe when I saw them coming.
I don't know what you guys put into those seats, but it is truly amazing what it does for the ride. I can't stay off my bike now. My girlfriend thinks I have an addiction. Well, maybe so, but thanks honey, I am so glad you complained about the stock seat!
Oh, by the way, the only thing she says now while on the bike is how comfortable she is.

Mustang to the Rescue
I installed my new Mustang seat with driver backrest last night and I wanted to write and tell you I’m delighted.
My Road King was the last of that frame configuration and Harley doesn’t offer a replacement seat with driver backrest. Mustang to the rescue!
The seat is not only much more comfortable than the OEM one, it really looks great too. Thanks so much for a superior product.

Delightfully Rested
I received my new Mustang seat this week and I have never ridden in such comfort before. It is like riding in a Laz-Y-Boy chair going down the highway. The model I ordered for my Police Bike is the solo with the driver backrest. It makes a world of difference in how you arrive at your destination, no longer all worn out but delightfully rested even after 300 plus miles.
I am very pleased with this seat and will never again ride without one of your great seats.

Comfort and Craftsmanship
The Studded Solo with driver backrest and passenger seat are all installed on my Road King and ready for tomorrow's ride to Puerto Nuevo, Mexico, for lobster and then on to Laughlin, Nevada.

I ordered Mustang's One-Piece Touring Saddle for my Road King Classic for this year's Washington State HOG Rally in Yakima. The truth of the matter is I needed a touring saddle since my sweet wife could only last about thirty miles on the stock seat and we were planning at least 400 miles during the three-day rally. The other issue is I asked Mustang to add chrome studs (a custom upgrade) but, to make matters difficult, I needed the seat in about four weeks to have it in time for the rally.
Your sales rep cautioned me that I placed my order during Mustang's busiest part of the season and that you'd try to have the seat shipped in time for the rally, but she could not promise.
I am happy to report that the seat arrived a week early and, because of your efficient operation, I didn't need to air freight the seat all the way to Seattle. When the seat arrived, I couldn't believe my eyes as to how well the seat was made and how good it looks on my Harley.
The real joy, however, was when my wife kept saying, "Hey! This is great!" and "My rear is about as happy as it could get!" We logged over 450 miles that weekend and both of us were happy, comfortable riders. This was the first time our stomachs gave in first on a long ride!"
If anyone has any doubts about the magic and the amazing difference a Mustang seat will make on their machine and how incredible it will enhance your riding experience, all you need to do is try it! You'll become a believer too!

I just wanted to let you know what a difference your Mustang seat made on a recent trip from Indiana to Washington, D.C., and back.
I could only ride on the factory seat about 200 miles before I had to quit. I ordered your solo seat with a backrest for this trip because I had one of your seats on my Sportster and I just had to try another one for my Firefighter Edition Road King.
We road 1200 miles in two days and it was amazing; I could not believe the difference a seat could make. One of the riders in our group had a “____” seat on his bike and he had to stop and get hotel room on the way back because he couldn't go any further.

What a great product Mustang produces!
I just received my DayTripper for the Road King and can't say enough about how pleased I am with the decision to give it a try. This is my third seat from Mustang but my first "low profile" style seat.
I have tried several other brands from riding buddies and just couldn't see paying money to be uncomfortable. I give much attention to the look and style of my motorcycles but not at the expense of rideablity.
I have been on bikes most of my life and ride year round so the importance of riding in reasonable comfort is absolutely necessary. Mustang has produced a seat that provides excellent looks with superb riding comfort, just as stated in your seat description.
I have no plans of getting rid of my Plain Solo and Wide Passenger Pillion as I will be using them on many touring rides to come, but it's really nice to give my Road King the royal treatment while allowing me to ride in complete comfort.
A cut above the rest! Thanks for a quality product I know I can count on.

At a rally two years ago, I met a couple from Canada with a Mustang seat on their Road King. They said that they have had a lot of motorcycles with a lot of different seats and the Mustang seat was the best ever.
When my wife and I picked up our new Road King Custom last spring, we rode about fifteen miles when my wife had to stop. She got off the bike and said that we needed a different seat since she just could not ride any more.
Remembering what the couple from Canada had said about the Mustang seat I ordered one.
Our first big ride with our new Mustang seat was from NY to Washington, D.C., for Rolling Thunder. In August we rode to the Sturgis rally and all around the mid-west (5000 miles in ten days).

I recently bought a smooth touring seat from you for my Custom. Well, I put it on and gave it the acid test. I rode 1,105 miles in twenty-one hours from Las Vegas, Nevada to Santa Cruz, California and back non-stop (except gas, food and calls of nature, of course).

I used to own a Mustang seat when I had a Kawasaki Vulcan. After I purchased a brand new Road King, I didn't like the stock seat.

Just wanted to let you know that I bought a Wide Touring seat for my vacation and, when I started out on “Day One,” I had zero mileage on this new seat.
Got back last night, having gone over 1100 miles, including one 300-mile day and, yesterday, a 420-mile (eleven-hour) day. We spent almost no time on interstate highways, except for in NJ (since we already know what NJ looks like), so it took eleven hours of cruising back mountain roads, foothills and farmland to get back home. After being on my bike for six days, my butt isn't one bit sore!
The seat was comfortable from the giddy-up and became more so after a few hundred miles. My only regret is that I didn't get one sooner; I've had this Road King for two years and 20,000 miles.

I originally had purchased a custom made "____" seat for my Road King Classic. I knew it felt firm but thought I'd get used to it so I used it for an entire year.
Then I decided to try a Mustang for taking longer trips and just use the other seat for "Bike Night." (It's only money, I'll make more!)
I installed my new Mustang seat and took the wife for a two-hour ride. We both loved it and could tell the difference in comfort. On a whim we drove back home and I threw the "____" back on; we weren't gone ten minutes before we decided which seat we both liked.
Someone on E-Bay got a great deal on that "other" seat and I've recommended Mustang to everyone since.

Here is another "success" story for you! Last year, my wife said she wanted to try learning to drive a motorcycle after riding on the back of mine for over twenty years. I sent her thru our state ABATE course and she passed.
Her graduation gift from me was a Honda 250. After a few months of riding that, she said that she wanted her own "Harley". So this spring we traded her Honda in for a new Sportster 883L. Before we left the dealership that day, she "hinted" that I had better get her a Mustang seat. Being a very long-time married man, I know when to "take a hint."
Needless to say, the Mustang Vintage Solo #76502 is on her Sportster and the stock seat is up in the rafters of the garage. She loves her Harley and the Mustang seat.

Just wanted to thank you guys for a great product. I received my Mustang seat for my Road King about one week ago and have since put several hundred miles on this new seat.
I originally replaced my stock seat with an upgraded Sundowner touring seat. This seat was a good improvement over stock and it looked really good, but I still wasn't satisfied on long rides.
The new Mustang seat is a good fit and it gives me at least another hundred miles of seat time.

About four years ago I purchased an FLHR and found the stock seat tolerable but only a "one hour" seat. I replaced the driver seat with a Mustang (against the advice of many to go with a "____" or a "____").
I was impressed with Mustang's narrow front end that enabled a much closer leg position, allowing me to reach the ground easier. I was not expecting how firm the seat is and how much more comfortable it was on long hauls.
I also replaced the passenger seat for my wife with the matching Mustang passenger seat--one of my wisest decisions of the last decade, believe me. My wife thoroughly loved our first long trip. Previous to replacing her seat, I could not keep her on the bike for even an hour.
Now, after another year, and a couple more thousand miles, I am writing to thank you for your product.

I wrote to Mustang a few weeks ago to report a small problem with my seat. Since it seems like more and more these days the personal service has gone out of companies, I didn't know what response to expect.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a box on my front steps a while later with a repair kit and instructions. Thanks for the quick and responsive reply and the assistance I was hoping for. You folks are a model for how companies should respond to their customers.
I am also very tardy in telling you how great your seat is on my Road King. I suffered with a stock seat for my first year of riding. Something had to be done. I did some research, talked to a lot of bikers and the Mustang seat seemed to be the one to buy.
I have not regretted the decision for a minute. It has made my riding, and my wife's, much more enjoyable. I extol the virtues of my seat to anyone who will listen. Mustang makes a great product and backs it up with service.

My first trip on the new seaton my Road King was great. I only went about 700 miles, but I did not feel a thing. The longest run without stopping was 150 miles.
I will be riding my 5th Iron Butt (1000miles/24hours) this June and on this seat I'm sure I will get along much better. The stock seat it replaced was definitely a "50 miler".

My Road King and my wife's Low Rider have had Mustang seats for over four years.
We both use the driver backrest and have gone up to 700 miles in a day without a (butt) problem.
After 80,000+ happy Mustang "butt-miles" between us, she just got a new Road King and is getting a Mustang seat for it ("NOW" she said).

I bought this Road King new in April 1994(one of the first ones) and had this Mustang seat installed by one of your vendors at "Miller’s Custom Parts" in Daytona during Bike Week in 1995. This photo was taken in 2004 after ten years and 68,000 miles. The seat is still like new.
I also have a Mustang seat on my Wide Glide and I am about to buy one for my SuperGlide. Since my 65th birthday, I have ridden to all forty-eight states on my Mustang seat. Next year I'll be 70 and, to celebrate my birthday, I plan to ride US Hwy 50 coast-to-coast on a Mustang seat. What can I say? They’re great.

We bought our Road King and rode it for four weeks to break it in. The stock seat was so uncomfortable that it spoiled the joy of our new purchase.
Years earlier, we had enjoyed the Mustang seat that was already on a Softail when we bought it. Our new Road King was supposed to be a better ride but it wasn't because the seat was intolerable after fifty miles. We knew what to do. We called you.
That was almost two years ago. This past weekend, we did our first 1000-mile ride, including one 480-mile day, nine hours in the saddle. We felt great when we got home and great when we woke up this morning.
It would NEVER have happened without our Mustang seat. We've grown as riders because of this new distance accomplishment; we have that accomplishment under our belts thanks to you.

I was always told that Mustang made a great seat but thought them to be a little "spendy." I bought a Deuce a couple a years ago and tried a "____" seat. It was cheap but what a waste of money--it was worse than the stock seat. You get what you pay for.

I bought a Road King and quickly learned why the seat is called a "fifty miler." Then I bought a Harley touring seat that was actually worse, so I traded it back for another touring seat. After about 15,000 miles I had to try something else.
A friend had a Mustang seat so I ordered your Wide Touring seat #75577--but I was still pretty skeptical. Rode around town and found it to be comfortable but, more important, my wife (the passenger) also was comfortable. One day I rode five hundred miles without any major discomfort or problems.

Just a quick note to let you all know that my wife and I are flat nuts about our new Mustang seat.
A little personal history for some of your chronic back pain sufferers who are considering Mustang seats: at 18 years old, I had the misfortune of being thrown through a car windshield at 70mph and, among other injuries, I broke my back rather severely.
By the grace of God I wasn't paralyzed, though I was surgically fused from
T9 through T11 to stabilize this fractured/dislocated region of my spine. At 45 years old, I live with varying degrees of chronic pain and I have a very hard time swinging a golf club because of my restricted back mobility (but
why golf anyway when you could go riding?!).
The simple fact of the matter is that I wouldn't be riding at all if it weren't
for a bike like the Road King--and for your Mustang Touring seat that takes
this phenomenal bike to a whole new level of support and comfort.

At the end of last year (with both our kids away in college and plenty of time on our hands), my wife decided that she would like to go for rides with me. With the Sporty being a little cramped for two, this gave me a great reason to get her to agree to purchase a Road King.
It wasn’t long on the very first ride before my wife said, “ Now I know what you meant by numb ass”. We continued to go for rides with her thinking that she would just need to get used to the seat. (Of course, I knew all along from experience that would never happen--the only cure for numb ass is a Mustang Seat.)
I continued taking her for rides figuring that the more numb ass set in, the easier it would be to get her to agree to get another “Deal” with the people at Mustang Seats. The rides got longer and longer, thus the numb ass got worse and worse (it was killing me, too!). Finally after a long ride, she hobbled back to the house and said “I can’t enjoy those rides as much with numb ass. Let's get a Mustang seat”. When she saw the seat, she had a wider smile on her face then I did when we picked up the new bike. We received our Mustang Touring seat for our Road King Classic on Friday. It was installed after dinner that same evening and, after our first twenty miles, we knew that we did not make a mistake.
On Sunday, we rode from Pittsburgh to the Flight 93 memorial in Shanksville with our H.O.G. club, a distance of approximately 130 miles. Never have I been more comfortable on a motorcycle in my life. More important, my wife was extremely happy, even after a 300-mile day.

I should have gone with the experience I had with Mustang on my earlier Road King but I wanted to try the competitor's more expensive product on my new Road King. What a mistake.
After 1,000 miles on the other seat, I ordered a Mustang Regal Touring seat. (The seat looks better than the photo online.) It is even more comfortable than I remembered and the quality is excellent.

I just had to drop down these few lines and first of all thank Sue once again. I bet Sue is #1 at Mustang Customer Service and, if not, she should be, because of the kindness and courtesy she always showed with me.
As soon as I saw that Road King seat, I understood why it took that long to build it. I must say it was worth the wait and each dollar I paid for it, because of materials used, accuracy in building it and comfort when riding.
The difference between the Mustang seat and stock is evident. Bike is far much easier to manage when standing still because of the narrower seat nose so that my feet can more easily reach the ground. Riding is REALLY more comfortable than before, indeed.
Finally, during our e-mail conversations, I did not realize Sue's last name is ITALIAN, and this can't do but to make me even happier! So, if you understand Italian: Grazie Sue, ti voglio bene! (If not, think you can manage to have it translated somehow.)

I decided to ride my Road King from Connecticut to Daytona this past March. The stock seat on my bike would begin to cause a numb ass after fifty miles and total discomfort after 100 miles.
As I have a motorcycle shop, I have access to every brand of seat made. Using past experience with a Mustang solo on my FLH and dealing with customer service from several manufacturers, I chose a Mustang #79102 Studded Solo with driver backrest.

About three months ago, I ordered a complete Mustang Seat for my Road King/Lehman Trike: matching smooth seat with rider backrest, wide passenger pillion and tour wraparound backrest with the black/chrome studs.
All I can say is that the seat combo is the most comfortable seat my wife and I have ever sat on, bar none, and they are really great looking, too. My buddies and I went riding yesterday and they all commented on how good my seat looks.
Your seats are absolutely fantastic! Time alone will tell me how long they last and stand up to the constant use, but I doubt I'll be disappointed. My trike is my primary transportation and I ride well over 350 miles a week. The new seat with rider backrest makes every mile a joy to ride. Weekend pleasure riding with my wife is equally enjoyable because of her new pillion and matching backrest.

I have run a Mustang Studded model #75566 with passenger pad #75567 on my Road King for four or five years.
This has been the best addition to my bike. I average 15-20,000 km (10-12,000 miles) a year and have never suffered any discomfort. On one trip I rode across both Saskatchewan and Alberta in one shot approximately 1800 km (1,125 miles), something I could never have done on the stock seat without getting numb bum.
Therefore, this past summer when we started looking for a seat for my wife's Sporty, we went straight to your web site. She decided on your Solo seat with backrest. She put aprox. 100 km (sixty miles) locally, then we set off on a 6000 km (3800 miles) run with not once ever getting numb bum, something that on her stock seat would happen within sixty to seventy miles.
All in all, these seats were the best investment we ever made for our bikes. If we move up to newer bikes, they will have Mustang seats on before they even leave the dealer's shop.

Like all of the really good customer service areas, your people are efficient and customer oriented. But, in addition, they are truly sincere and present themselves as real people to those who call to order. I could have just as easily believed I was ordering from my sister when I called in to order the seat and check its delivery date. Lea was that friendly, evoking a feeling of real caring and concern that I receive the seat on time.
I was surprised how careful she was to take the time to ensure that I knew of any potential mounting installation issues for my specific bike. (It's a converted Road King police model and she was quick to let me know of a potential extra step. Consequently, I was more than ready when it arrived.) I received it two days after ordering it.
My wife and I were planning a trip on my Road King over the weekend and were leaving two hours after the seat arrived. I quickly read through the instructions, mounted the seats, remounted the original back support and was ready in only a few minutes.

Ok- -I must confess (being the critical customer that I am) that I LOVE my #79100 solo seat on my Road King. I can't imagine a more practical solo package that would be more comfortable. Thanks!

I'm impressed! You exceeded my expectations and with today's level of customer service and product quality, that does not happen often.
I ordered the Road King Touring seat with studs after two months on the stock seat--(ouch!). What a difference. Now I sit in the seat, not on it, and I have some great butt support. Much higher quality perfect stitching and fit.
My sweetheart also loves longer rides now. Oh, her first words after her first ride were "It's worth every penny."
Keep up the great work ethic and I will keep bragging about Mustang!

We picked up our new Road King on Thursday night. After riding it this weekend, I had had enough of that stock seat. The wife's and my tail bones hurt after only 200 miles. When I parked the bike this evening, my tail bone hurt so bad I thought I would be unable to move.
Having ridden about 12,000 miles on a Mustang Regal seat on my last Road King, this stock seat was not even marginally acceptable. So, I just ordered a Mustang Regal Touring seat (#75465).
Thanks in advance for what has become the greatest motorcycle seat the wife and I have ever had the pleasure of sitting in.
P.S.: Other than the very poor stock seat, our new Road King with the Radical Metallic Green/Silver Tribal Flames (#155 of 200 I might add) is doing fine.

I would like to take a few minutes and share with you what I believe in today's business world is a great story based on service, employee helpfulness and doing things the right way the first time.
As one who runs a large company, I was very pleased when I called your company to inquire about a new seat for my Road King. I talked with a young lady, who was as pleasant, knowledgeable, and service-oriented as anybody I have dealt with in business.
The summary of my experience is that in today's mediocre service environment in any industry, I am incredibly impressed and appreciative of your employees, your product and the integrity of both. She helped me identify the right seat for my needs and assured me that if I placed an order, she would be able to ship it out right away. I thanked her and called her back the following day to place an order. She verified my order and shipped me my new one-piece touring seat immediately along with a rider backrest and passenger backrest. I can't tell you how delighted I was when I received these pieces and they were exactly what I had ordered.
After riding for a few months, I realized that the rider saddle was a little too wide. In the meantime, I decided to purchase and try a very expensive competitor's seat and backrest whose name we would all recognize. That seat and backrest were the most uncomfortable product that I have experienced. I have written it off to an expensive mistake.
I decided to call Mustang back and explain my problem in that I love the seat, but it was just a little too wide. This time I talked with Sue on the telephone and she was as pleasant and helpful as was Lea several months before. Sue suggested I send the seat back with the areas chalk-marked that I would like reduced to help fit my needs. She assured me that by 5 p.m. that afternoon, she would fax to my office a work order number with instructions to enclose with my returned seat. At 5 p.m. that afternoon the fax arrived with all pertinent instructions as promised. I was assured that my seat would be returned within a week.
Approximately ten days passed and I called Sue who immediately recognized my name and said, "Mr. Rosenberg, your seat went out yesterday and you should receive it today or tomorrow." The following day I received my re-worked seat and as soon as I installed it, I felt like it was the return of an old friend. I can't tell you how comfortable both the seat and having the use again of the Mustang backrest is.
I regularly ride with ten to twelve other riders and be assured that not only they, but also many others have and will hear this same story. The only challenge I am faced with now is selling a competitor's seat that is basically brand new but extremely inferior to Mustang.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this and please congratulate your employees for me.

You probably won't post this because you have sooooo many great accolades already but I just have to tell you that I bought the Wide Studded seat for my Road King and it's the greatest thing I've ever purchased! No comparison out there anywhere.
I have to keep a close eye on it around other scooter bums so that they don't make off with it!

I purchased a Touring Seat for my Road King to accommodate my wife. Even though she seldom rides, she likes the comfort of the seat when she does.
I rode solo back from Sturgis (some 1,600 miles in three days) and I could not believe how well the seat worked. Everyone asked me about my sore tail but I told them that I had no problems at all because of the great seat.
My ears did ring a bit from the highway noise, though.

I left Longview, Texas, for Sturgis riding my Road King on the stock seat. We stopped in Salina, Kansas the first night, a ride of 580 miles. My butt was sore the last 200 miles and I was constantly shifting in the saddle.
When we got to Sturgis, I stopped by the Mustang tent and purchased a Wide Vintage Touring seat (#75464). Then I was off and riding.
I rode from Nebraska to Oklahoma, approximately the same distance I had ridden the first day going to Sturgis. If I wasn't stopping in Tulsa to stay with friends, I would have continued the 300 miles to Longview.
I don't believe I could have purchased a better seat for more money. You have a great product that is value-priced in this day of high prices for the Harley rider. Keep up the great work.

This year I turned fifty years of age. The impact was softened recently with the purchase of a dream: a Harley-Davidson Road King Classic now lives in my garage.
My dream almost became a nightmare however, as my wife of twenty-three years could not tolerate the stock saddle for more than fifteen minutes at a time. "No problem," said my H-D dealer (Ademac’s in Orange Park, Florida) "get a Mustang seat like mine!"
While shopping around for a seat, I went to Miller’s Shop in Daytona. The salesman there recommended Mustang seats as well, and then took us outside to HIS OWN Road King with that very seat in place. He encouraged me to sit on his bike with my wife behind me to see if this was the seat for us (you are well represented here).
I have since purchased the seat with a driver backrest and find it to be the most comfortable I’ve ever had. After 2,000 miles in our Mustang touring saddle in only thirty days, you may be encouraged to know that you have saved a marriage, a motorcycle and a dream!
Last year I purchased a "___" brand touring setup for another bike. I wish I had known about you then! Although "___" does make a quality product, for my comfort and wallet NO ONE compares to Mustang! Gratefully comfortable,
