Mounting Suggestions for Mustang Seats

A. Baseplate Features

The solo is constructed of a marine grade fiberglass baseplate. The solo has a single nose bracket and two chrome mounting tabs that align with the fender inserts/studs.

B. Removal of Stock Seat

Passenger Seat

  1. Remove rear fender screw.
  2. Slide passenger seat back and up.

Solo Seat

  1. Remove solo mounting nuts located at the back of the solo.
  2. Slide solo seat back and up.
One-Piece Seat
  1. Remove rear fender screw.
  2. Remove hand strap that is secured to bike on each side where front saddle bag mount is located.
  3. Slide stock seat back and up.

C. Mounting of Mustang Solo Seat

NOTE: Seat Mounting Nuts (Mustang Part#78032 or Stock Harley-Davidson®) are required

Hardware included:Two black nylon shoulder washers and Two 1/4" Chrome washers

  1. Engage nose of seat, pushing seat as far forward as possible so that the mounting studs in the fender are in the middle to back edge of the slotted tabs.
  2. A firm downward chop to the nose of the seat will push the seat closer to the chrome dash.
  3. Seat is spring loaded for a tight fit so the mounting tabs will be approximately 1"-1.5" above the fender.
  4. The supplied nylon washers go between the mounting tabs and the fender.
  5. Supplied Chrome Washers go between mounting tabs on seat and solo mounting nuts.
  6. Start one mounting nut to finger tight and then do second, secure both.
