Mounting Suggestions for Mustang Seats

A. Baseplate Features  

Seats are built on 16 gauge formed steel baseplates. The baseplates have rubber supports at contact points and carpet to protect the fender. All passenger seats are connected to the solo with two hidden screws.

B. Removal of Stock Seat
  1. Remove the side mounting bolt on each side of solo if stock seat is two piece design.
  2. Remove rear fender screw. NOTE: Spring loaded screws stay attached to brackets.
  3. Slide seat back and up.
  4. Remove the side mounting inserts in frame (one on each side) using a 3/4" wrench.
C. Mounting of Mustang Solo
  1. Clip welded nose tab into the frame mount behind the gas tank.
  2. Align side brackets with large threaded holes in frame.
  3. Secure side brackets with supplied Mustang solo bolts #78033.
D. Mounting of Mustang Passenger Seat
  1. Remove two screws located at back of Mustang solo seat.
  2. Align passenger seat front chrome tabs with threaded holes in back of solo baseplate.
  3. Secure rear seat and solo together with screws from step 1. It is easier to start the second screw if the first screw is completely tightened because of the angles of the threaded holes.
  4. Remove rear seat tab from stock seat (2000-05) and install on Mustang rear seat using supplied bolts. Refer to chart in Section A for other models. Clip welded nose tab into the frame mount behind gas tank and secure rear of seat with stock screw.
  5. Side mounts on solo can be used, see section C.
