Mounting Suggestions of Mustang Seats

A. Baseplate Features (Click on picture for a larger view)

The two-piece seat is built on marine-grade fiberglass baseplates. The passenger seat is attached to the solo with two hidden screws. Mustang has designed the seat so that the solo portion utilizes the stock key latch and the rear of the seat is bolted down with the stock rear screw and a nylon washer.
To access helmet locks and tool kit, unlatch front of seat, lift up slightly, and pivot a few inches to the side.

B. Removal of Stock Seat

1. Unlatch solo and remove.
2. Remove rear fender screw, slide rear seat back and up to remove.
3. Remove three 6mm Allen bolts holding fender bracket in place.
4. Remove bracket as this is not required on the Mustang seat.
5. Reinstall the three 6mm Allen bolts into the fender to fill the holes.


C. Mounting of Mustang Seat


Hardware included: One nylon washer

1. Check both screws that attach the passenger seat to the solo to be sure they are tight.
2. Position the Mustang seat on the bike and engage latch at nose of seat.
3. Seat is spring-loaded causing rear bracket to sit up off of fender. Push rear of seat down aligning slotted chrome bracket with threaded fender hole. (Supplied washer goes between bracket and fender.)
4. Secure with stock screw.
