SEAT ASSEMBLER

JOB TITLE: Assembler

DEPARTMENT: Assembly

FLSA: Non-Exempt / Full Time

SHIFT:  Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 pm – Mandatory OT to 4:30 pm after training is complete.  Training may last up to 5 weeks.

REPORTS TO:   Assembly Team Lead, Foreman and/or Operations Manager

Position Overview:  Assemble motorcycle seats including gluing covers, gluing foam, riveting covers to pans, riveting bumpers to pans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :.

  • Produce seats in accordance with quality and quantity expectations.
  • Examine work for exactness and neatness
  • Strive to continuously improve efficiency and speed over time
  • Work with General Manager to reach department productivity and quality goals
  • Help train new hires when asked for as long as is needed as determined by the General Manager
  • Keep work area neat, clean and free from debris to ensure a safe work environment
  • Comply with both departmental and company-wide policies

Education and Experience:

• Must be able to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use basic math.

·         Manufacturing experience preferred.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner.  Abide by policies, safety rules, work procedures and instructions.  Must be a self-starter that takes ownership of work responsibilities and projects as related to role.  Must be able to multi- task and prioritize workload.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle, feel, hear and talk.  The employee is frequently required to stand walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Operations Manager

 

Mustang Motorcycle Products, the worldwide leader in motorcycle seat manufacturing is seeking an individual to provide support to Operations Management to insure the smooth flow of production between various departments.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Effectively manage and direct production activities personally and through subordinate D.C. Managers. The Operations Manager will be guided by the Company's Vision statement, policies, and procedures.  The Operations Manager is responsible for production results, security, safety, inventory integrity, facility maintenance and maintenance of all equipment and supplies required to operate the manufacturing site.  The Operations Manager ensures that all production employees are thoroughly trained in safety and manufacturing procedures.  The Operations Manager will monitor employee performance ensuring that procedures and standards provided through the training process are followed.

 

Essential Functions:

·         Supervise and direct production department’s activities.

·         Coordinate scheduled production in order to maintain a steady flow of components required to meet production goals.

·         Identify and correct capacity issues in order to increase throughput.

·         Maintain and provide quality assurance of product and paperwork accuracy.

·         Responsible for Inventory Control – ensure accuracy of scrap and waste minimization, production lists, etc.

·         Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.

·         Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.

·         Focus on continuous improvement in all areas.

·         Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provide regular progress reports to manager.

·         Perform accident investigations.

·         Manage department priorities.

·         Track absenteeism and timekeeping and ensure consistent application of Company attendance standards.

 

Education and Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         The ideal candidate would have experience in manufacturing functions as well as 3 - 5 years front line supervisory background.  Strong effective communication skills throughout organization.  Proficiency in Microsoft Applications.  Must be a self-starter that takes ownership of work responsibilities and projects as related to role.  Must be able to multi - task and prioritize workload.  Able to work well under pressure in order to meet production deadlines.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

1.      Works in office conditions and manufacturing environment.

2.      Periodic to frequent travel, as required.

Team Leader

REPORTS TO: Foreman

 

BASIC SCOPE/PURPOSE

Plans, organizes, and monitors the department’s work to ensure a smooth and consistent operation so that daily production goals are met and the work is accomplished in an effective, safe and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the department’s goals in an effective and efficient manner. Recommend applicants for hire as department members.

Plan and coordinate work, train and motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of department members; ensure their ability to safely operate tools and equipment.  Counsel, record, and discipline as necessary.  Maintain an equipment structure and level to accomplish the department’s goals in a safe, effective manner.  Ensure daily work reports are accurate and timely.  Oversee the movement of material in and out of department.  Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.  Ensure department compliance with company safety rules and regulations.  Perform other related duties as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Degree and experience in a manufacturing environment required.  Strong knowledge of department operations, methods, and practices. Ability to develop personnel and equipment structures to support present and future operations.  Must possess the ability to effectively communicate orally.
